As we move into the final month of summer, we’ve already had the chance to capture some moving personal stories and meet unforgettable four-legged friends. August is shaping up to be a busy month here at RAW Photography Manchester. From emotionally powerful newborn sessions to vibrant urban dog shoots and an exciting upcoming event we’re proud to sponsor, there’s plenty to share in this month’s blog.

Let’s take a look at what’s happening behind the lens this August.

Personal memories we are proud to capture

🍼 Jensen’s Newborn Session

Our most recent newborn session was a really moving one. Baby Jensen came into the world earlier than expected. The early days were tough for his parents, with baby J. needing to spend his first few weeks in an incubator in hospital. Understandably, those weeks were emotionally draining, and finally bringing him home marked a huge milestone for the family.

So when the time came for his newborn session, we wanted to capture more than “just” photographs. We wanted them to remember their journey and how far they have come when they look at their images in a few decades.
Baby needed plenty of breaks for feeding and cuddles, and we followed his pace every step of the way. With patience and lots of TLC, we were able to create some truly beautiful images for him and his family.

🐶 Bella, the 11-Year-Old Dalmatian with a Puppy Spirit

Our second most recent session was with the amazing Bella, an 11-year-old Dalmatian with more bounce than dogs half her age. This session was all about focusing on the bond between Bella and her family. While many of us have hundreds (thousands?) of photos of our dogs on our phones, we virtually have none of us together with them.

Bella reminded us of the importance of those connections. She leapt, jogged, and sniffed her way through the session like a pro. These are the moments that become timeless, and we feel lucky to have preserved them for her family.

🌆 Urban Sessions – Manchester’s New Playground

While Vixie is more used to open spaces and off-lead adventures, this canine OG took to the streets like she owned them—and in a way, she did. Her history as a rescued street dog came through in her confident trot.

Urban dog sessions are an exciting new offering for us at RAW Photography Manchester, and we’re thrilled to be bringing them to life. City dogs are often more comfortable navigating pavements, roads, and the bustle of town life. And for those concerned about keeping leads on—don’t worry. Dogs can remain safely on the lead the entire time. We’ll work our magic in post-production to remove it from the final images (see below!)

These sessions are ideal for Manchester dog owners who want photos that reflect their pet’s real, everyday world—bold, gritty, beautiful, and unmistakably city. If that sounds like you, let’s chat!

Join Us at PAWS In The Park Fun Dog Show – with an exclusive Giveaway!

We’re thrilled to announce that RAW Photography Manchester will be sponsoring the “PAWS In The Park Fun Dog Show” on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, in Queen’s Park Road, Heywood (OL10 4UY).
This family-friendly gathering, hosted by PAWS, will feature a wide variety of dog show classes (complete with rosettes up to 4th place), a goody bag for 1st-place winners, and a "Best in Show" final round for all top entrants.
